<pre data-block="statement"> 🕉️ The sixteenth adhyāya stands inside the Agnicayana we have just walked through — but it is great enough to need a chapter of its own. It is the ŚATARUDRIYA, "the hymn of the hundred Rudras," known everywhere as the ŚRĪ RUDRAM. Its method is simple and overwhelming: salute Rudra EVERYWHERE — in his wrath as well as his kindness, in forests and roads and rivers, in the great and in the small. If God is one, there is nowhere he is not, and nothing that may be left out of the bowing. This is the WHITE recension, and it is not the same text South Indian reciters know. It runs in 66 kaṇḍikās, not 11 anuvākas; it lacks a verse every Taittirīya reciter has by heart; and it gives नमः शिवाय a standing the other recension does not. Fourteen of its mantras follow, with the differences marked as we go. </pre>
