<pre data-block="statement">What this canto covers | The Twelfth Canto foretells the age of KALI and its steady decline of dharma (12.2.1), and consoles the reader with its "one great virtue": that in Kali, liberation comes simply by chanting the Lord's Name (12.3.51–52). It records the death and liberation of Parīkṣit, and closes with the Bhāgavata's own glory (12.13.18) — the fruit of the whole telling.</pre>
