<pre data-block="statement"> 🕉️ The Yajurveda is the Veda of yajña — the words spoken while the sacred act is performed. It survives in two great streams, and this course reads the second of them. The Kṛṣṇa ("Black") Yajurveda blends mantra and explanation together in one body. The ŚUKLA ("White") Yajurveda does the opposite: it keeps the mantras pure and unmixed, and sends the explanation to a separate book, the Śatapatha Brāhmaṇa. "White" means CLEAR — śukla, unclouded — not superior. Its Saṃhitā is the VĀJASANEYI SAṂHITĀ, named for the sage Yājñavalkya Vājasaneya, in FORTY adhyāyas. This course walks all forty — from the first words spoken over a cut branch, through the fire-altar and the Śatarudriya, to the Puruṣa Sūkta, the Śiva Saṅkalpa, and the Īśāvāsya Upaniṣad which forms its final adhyāya. </pre>
